I saw Apocalypto on Sunday, and I reeeaaalllly liked it. the imagery, and the basic story, this guy who just wants to get out alive and save his wife and kid ... IT TOUCHED ME. or something.
here's my crappy tribute to it. done in Painter 7 ... I rarely do real people, so I know, it stinks. plus I only had one little reference, taken from the trailer. it does no justice to his incredibly sexy self.
I love you, Jaguar Paw guy!!

character copyrighted to Mel Gibson, of course.

EDIT: after some time away from it, I guess it doesn't really stink. joy :)
comments much appreciated!

Wow! what an awesome pic! the movie was just stunning! I was wondering if someone would make a fanpic of it...

it's a (somewhat fictionalized) story of the end of the Mayan era, but the focus is on Jaguar Paw (this dude). his village is seized in a raid, and the men taken for human sacrifice. but omg, he has to save his wife and kid, who he put down a well during the raid so they'd be safe :O sounds boring on paper, but it's very well done and exciting, plus the imagery is like ... whoa.
