I think this is supposed to be a hair tutorial. beware, it's very long! the horror! I'm a horrible hair nazi. I'm so anal when it comes to drawing hair (hehe, anal!). but really, it's waaay simpler than it looks.
I use Painter 7 for most of my drawing needs, as in this tutorial, but the same techniques could be applied in other programs. I find Painter most effective and comfortable though, personally.
remember, the airbrush and just add water tools are your friends. Smudge is also a great tool for hair, and can take add water's place if you wish. excuse my deadly handwriting, I know it sucks, therefore you need not tell me, dear friends. I hope this tutorial's of some use, though. hair, hair! long beautiful haaaiirrr ~
the boy was killed during the making of this tutorial, so I'm afraid you can't see the rest of him. may he rest in peace, and may we never forget his sacrifice.
and remember! don't go too crazy with your hair. it's easy to do overkill, and then it'll start looking uglier and uglier, messier and messier. so know the limits! good luck!
EDIT: also, if you find this tutorial helpful and fav it, I would appreciate it if you left a comment as well. it's not hard and only takes a second, and is the polite thing to do, since making a tutorial takes time.
Oh, I do like this. It's very helpful, actually! I'll definitely use it next time I have to draw someone's hair... thanks a lot for submitting this! I appreciate it very much!

you are hilarious. Just the way you explain things makes me smile. And the hair tutorial is so appropriate, just like the blood one. You're fantastic at both. I'll try and experiment with your techs next time

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
